4 Day South Haven Beachside Plant-Based Wellness Retreat in South Haven, Michigan

Kathy and Jill (along with Jill's husband Greg, who is sometimes around) welcome you into their beautiful retreat space near the soft, sandy shores of Lake Michigan. As a recovered food addict Jill has been living Free from Food Cravings and the mental bondage of food addiction for many years.

For years, the leading cause of death in the US has been and continues to be heart disease, with risk factors being any one of the following: total high cholesterol, hypertension, obesity and diabetes. With more than 1.5 million people diagnosed with cancer each year and almost 30 million people living with diabetes in the United States—and many more cases in other countries around the globe—there is an urgent need for a new direction in battling diseases.

Whole Plant Foods are a big KEY, but how do you incorporate them into daily life when our Mommas didn't raise us this way?? You will learn and practice cooking methods and game-changing recipes that can catapult your journey at home towards a better, healthier life.

They provide a welcoming, intimate atmosphere for ease of learning and attention to the individual. Small cooking classes and presentations on food planning, preparing and setting up systems for success are the focus.

Time for sunset viewing and walking on or near the beautiful, expansive Lake Michigan beach are written into the daily schedule. Beginners Yoga and meditation are also included during your stay.

They are committed to supporting you, as you invest in exploring effective systems that support your journey toward more of a Whole Food Plant Based (WFPB) lifestyle.

Description

In your comfortable clothing, you will wake up to hot tea or coffee, simple fresh fruit upon request and light stretching/yoga or meditation. Weather permitting, an option to walk to the lighthouse (close to a 3 mile roundtrip walk) at your own pace and with options for shorter walking routes. Each morning at 10:00am we join together for our first nutritious meal of the day. Nutrition education follows as we learn about the supportive, healing properties of whole plant foods. (See below) Big fun comes next in the cooking classes at the big island in the kitchen. Sun streaming through the windows, everyone has the opportunity to "play with the food,” acquire cornerstone recipes and a higher comfort level to prepare them at home. This hands-on cooking time is the cornerstone of the Plant Life Journey Retreat. Each day we emphasize the meals themselves as colorful, healing and delicious. We provide over 60 recipes at our 4 day retreats and guests actually get to sample many of those recipes during their stay! We intentionally make a large variety of foods and snacks so people can begin to realize and open up to their internal shift towards this lifestyle as one of nature's loving abundance. Daily yoga and meditation are optional for those interested, as are our guided Inner Work series for raising your level of God Consciousness and deepening your connection to the Divine source of love and light within you. Guests also enjoy ample opportunity for fresh air movement, free time to walk on the beach, walk or drive to our quaint town to shop or in many ways customize your time before, during, or after the retreat. Please let us know what interests you have so we can assist in making your stay very special.
